YouTube QR Code Generator
Send people straight to your channel, a video or a Short with one scan. Style the code with YouTube's red and logo, or with your own brand mark.
Which YouTube link to use
- Your channel —
youtube.com/@yourchannel. Best for growing subscribers. - One video — copy the link from Share under the video. Best for a product demo, recipe or tutorial printed next to the product.
- A playlist — keeps viewers watching once the first video ends.
- A Short —
youtube.com/shorts/…, opens in the vertical Shorts player.
Paste the link into the Social Media tab: it recognises YouTube and applies the logo and colours. Scanning opens the YouTube app if it is installed, or the browser if not.
Where YouTube QR codes work well
- Packaging and manuals — "Scan to watch the setup video" saves support calls.
- Posters and event stands — show a trailer or highlight reel.
- Classrooms and handouts — link a lesson video to a worksheet.
- Business cards — next to your other social media QR codes.
Make it scan first time
Use your own short @handle link rather than a long link with tracking parameters — less data means a simpler code that scans from further away. Keep strong contrast, leave a clear margin and check the QR code size guide before printing.
Frequently asked questions
Can a QR code start a YouTube video at a set time?
Yes. Use YouTube's Share button, tick "Start at", and paste that link. The code opens the video at that moment.
Will the code still work if I rename my channel?
A link to a video keeps working. A channel link using your @handle stops working if you change the handle, so make a new code after a handle change.
Is it free?
Yes. It is a static QR code with no expiry and no scan limit.
