QR Code for Your Restaurant Menu
Let guests open your menu on their phone the moment they sit down. Link a QR code to your online menu, add your logo, and print it on table cards, windows and takeaway bags.
Step 1: Put your menu online
The QR code opens a web address, so your menu first needs a home online. The best options, from most to least flexible:
- A menu page on your own website, such as
yourcafe.com/menu. You control it completely and can change prices any time. - Your ordering or delivery platform page, if you already take orders online.
- A shared PDF (for example from Google Drive). Quick to set up, but PDFs are harder to read on phones, and the link breaks if the file is deleted or replaced.
Step 2: Create the code
Paste your menu link into the box above. Choose Add my logo to put your restaurant's logo in the centre and match your colours — a branded code looks trustworthy and fits your table design. Scan the preview with your phone to make sure it opens the right page, then download.
The code is static: it never expires and has no scan limit, so there is no monthly fee to keep your menu online.
Change your menu without reprinting
The code always opens the same address, but the page at that address can change. Update the menu page when prices or dishes change and every printed table card keeps working. This is why a menu page you control is better than linking straight to a PDF file.
Printing table cards and stickers
- Size: about 3 × 3 cm or larger for table cards; bigger for windows and wall posters. See the QR code size guide.
- Call to action: add "Scan for menu" and, if you have one, a short web address as a backup.
- Lighting: dim restaurants make scanning harder. Use high contrast and a matte finish to avoid glare.
- Durability: laminated cards or wipeable stickers survive cleaning; replace any that get scratched.
- Keep paper menus available for guests without a phone or with a low battery.
Make the most of the table
Next to the menu code, add a WiFi QR code so guests can join your network, a WhatsApp code for takeaway orders, or an Instagram code to win followers. Keep each code clearly labelled so guests scan the one they want.
Frequently asked questions
Can I update my menu after printing the QR code?
Yes, as long as the code points to a page you can edit. Change the menu page and every printed code shows the new version. If you link to a PDF, replace the file at the same link.
Is a menu QR code free?
Yes. QRLogo Studio creates static QR codes that are free, never expire and have no scan limit, so there is no subscription to keep your menu code working.
What size should a menu QR code be on a table?
Around 3 × 3 cm or larger for table cards scanned from a seat. Use larger codes for windows, posters or anything read from further away.
Can I put my restaurant logo on the menu QR code?
Yes. Choose "Add my logo" to open the Branded tab, upload your logo and set your colours, then test-scan before printing.
Should I use a PDF or a web page for my menu?
A mobile-friendly web page is easier to read on phones and easier to update. A PDF works, but guests have to zoom, and the link breaks if the file is removed.
