Free QR Code Generator
Make a QR code for any link or text, style it, and download it as a high-resolution PNG or a vector SVG — free, with no account and no scan limits.
What "free" means here
Every QR code you make in QRLogo Studio is a static QR code: the link or text is written directly into the pattern. Nothing sits between the code and its destination, so there is nothing to switch off later.
- No expiry. The code keeps working for as long as the destination exists.
- No scan limits. A static code can be scanned any number of times.
- No account. Design and download straight from the page.
- Commercial use allowed. Use the codes on packaging, menus, ads and client work.
It is worth knowing why other "free" generators sometimes stop working: many create dynamic codes that route every scan through their own short link. When the free trial ends, the short link is disabled and every printed code breaks. A static code has no such dependency.
How to make a free QR code
- Enter your content. Paste a website address, or type any text — a phone number, a message, an address.
- Style it (optional). Pick colours, a dot pattern and corner shape, or switch to the logo tabs to add your brand mark.
- Test, then download. Scan the live preview with your phone camera, then download PNG or SVG.
PNG or SVG — which download should you choose?
PNG is a pixel image, exported at up to 2000 × 2000 px. It works everywhere: websites, slides, documents, social posts and email.
SVG is a vector file. It stays perfectly sharp at any size, which makes it the right choice for print — business cards, posters, banners, packaging and signage. Designers can also recolour or place it in tools like Illustrator, Figma, Canva or InDesign without losing quality.
If you are not sure, download both: PNG for screens, SVG for anything printed.
Checklist before you print
- Scan the code with at least two different phones, including an older one.
- Keep dark dots on a light background; inverted (light on dark) codes fail on some cameras.
- Print it at least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 × 0.8 in). For scanning from further away, a common rule of thumb is a code width of about one tenth of the scanning distance.
- Leave a clear margin (the "quiet zone") around the code — don't let text or artwork touch it.
- Open the destination on a phone to make sure the page is mobile-friendly.
Frequently asked questions
Do the free QR codes expire?
No. They are static QR codes, so the content is stored in the code itself. They keep working forever, as long as the website or content they point to is still there.
Is there a limit on scans or downloads?
No. Static QR codes have no scan counter, and you can create and download as many codes as you need.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can design and download QR codes straight away. An optional free account saves the codes you download to "My QR Codes" so you can find them again.
Is there a watermark on the download?
The QR pattern itself is left untouched. Free downloads carry a small, faint qrlogostudio.online credit in one corner of the image, outside the code's scanning area.
Can I use the QR codes commercially?
Yes. Codes made with QRLogo Studio can be used on products, packaging, marketing material and client projects without attribution.
