Instagram QR Code Generator
Turn your Instagram username into a QR code that opens your profile in one scan. Use the Instagram logo and colours, or put your own brand mark in the centre.
What happens when someone scans it
The code holds your profile link — instagram.com/yourbrand. When someone points their camera at it, the phone shows the link, and tapping it opens your profile in the Instagram app if they have it installed, or in the browser if they don't. From there they are one tap away from following you.
Because the link is stored in the code itself, it never expires and has no scan limit.
Instagram's own QR code vs. making your own
The Instagram app can show a QR code for your profile, which is handy for sharing in person. A code made here is better suited to anything you design or print:
- Your look, not Instagram's template. Choose dot patterns, corner shapes and colours that match your brand.
- Your logo or Instagram's. Use the Instagram mark so people know what they'll open, or put your own logo in the centre.
- Print-ready files. Download a high-resolution PNG, or a vector SVG that stays sharp on banners and packaging.
Where to put your Instagram QR code
- Shop counters and windows — "Follow us for new arrivals".
- Packaging, labels and thank-you cards — turn a customer into a follower after they buy.
- Restaurant tables and menus — next to your menu QR code.
- Business cards, flyers and event stands — next to your other social media QR codes.
Always add a short call to action next to the code, such as "Scan to follow @yourbrand". People scan more when they know what they'll get.
Tips for a code that scans first time
- Double-check the spelling of your username — the code opens exactly what you type.
- If you change your username later, the old code will stop finding you. Make a new one.
- Keep dark dots on a light background, and leave clear space around the code.
- Scan the preview with a couple of phones before you print. See the QR code size guide for print sizes.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Instagram QR code open the app?
Yes, on most phones. If the Instagram app is installed, tapping the scanned link opens your profile in the app; otherwise it opens in the browser.
Can I link to a post or reel instead of my profile?
Yes. Paste the full link to the post or reel in the Social Media tab instead of your username. The code will open that exact post.
Will the code still work if I change my username?
No. The code stores the link with your old username, so it will no longer reach your profile. Create a new code after changing your username.
Is it free to make an Instagram QR code?
Yes. It is a static QR code: free to create, free to download, with no expiry and no scan limit.
Can I use my business logo instead of the Instagram logo?
Yes. Choose "Use my own logo" to open the Branded tab, upload your logo, and set your brand colours.
