What a vCard QR code does
A vCard is the standard format phones use for contacts. When someone scans a vCard QR code, their phone shows your details and offers to save them as a new contact — name, phone, email, company, job title, website and address in one step.
Fewer fields, better scans
All the details are stored inside the code, so every field you add makes the pattern denser. On a small business card, stick to the essentials — name, phone, email and website — and keep the code at least 2 × 2 cm. Putting it on a business card
- The back of the card is ideal: give the code space and a clear margin.
- Add a short prompt such as "Scan to save my contact".
- Download the SVG for your printer so the code stays sharp.
- Scan a printed proof before ordering a full run.
When your details change
A vCard QR code is static — the details can't be edited after printing. When you change role, phone number or email, create a new code. If your details change often, a QR code linking to a profile page you can update may suit you better.
