Email QR Code Generator
Make it effortless to email you. Scanning the code opens the phone's mail app with your address — and, if you like, a subject and message — already filled in.
What happens when someone scans it
The code stores a standard mailto: link. When it is scanned, the phone offers to open its email app — Mail, Gmail, Outlook or whichever is set as default — with a new message addressed to you. Any subject and message you added appear ready to send.
Nothing is sent automatically: the person reviews the email and taps Send themselves.
Good uses for an email QR code
- Customer support — on packaging, manuals and warranty cards, with a subject like "Support request".
- Feedback — on receipts, tables and hotel rooms: "Tell us how we did".
- Job applications — on hiring posters, with "Application: Sales Assistant" as the subject.
- RSVPs and sign-ups — on invitations and event flyers.
- Quote requests — on vans, site boards and brochures.
Use the subject line to sort replies
A pre-filled subject tells you where each email came from. Give each placement its own subject — "Flyer enquiry", "Shop window enquiry" — and you can see which one brings in the most messages, with no tracking tools needed. Keep the message short: everything you add is stored in the code and makes the pattern denser.
Privacy and spam
Anyone who scans the code can see the email address, so treat it like printing the address itself. For public posters, use a shared address such as hello@ or support@ rather than a personal inbox, and keep spam filtering switched on.
Frequently asked questions
Does an email QR code send the email automatically?
No. It opens a new email in the phone's mail app with the details filled in. The person can edit it and decides whether to send it.
Which email app opens?
The phone's default email app, such as Apple Mail, Gmail or Outlook. Most phones let the person choose if several are installed.
Can I add a subject and message?
Yes. Both are optional. Keep them short so the code stays easy to scan, especially at small print sizes.
Can I change the email address after printing?
No. The address is stored in the code itself. To change it, create and print a new code.
